Introduction
The 2009 Rock & Rod Show is a volunteer driven event sanctioned by the VICTORIA POLICE BLUE RIBBON FOUNDATION. The Event benefits the Eyre - Tynan Accident and Emergency Departments within Goulburn Valley Health.
A little Rock & Rod Show history
Since 2002 the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation Shepparton Branch has put on a Rock & Roll Dance for the rock & roll enthusiast. In 2007 the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation Shepparton Branch incorporated a Hot Rod Show with the dance for the families and hot rod enthusiast. It is now held at the Victoria Park Lake foreshore Wyndham Street Shepparton. At our first Rock & Roll event we had 150 People attend the Rock & Roll Dance and are now averaging 180 People. Our first year of incorporating the Hot Rods we had 35 street registered rods attend. Since that time the Hot Rod Show has grown and we are receiving more street rod entries each year from around Australia.
We provide fun for the whole family with games, activities, and dances during the day & evening. Our Hot Rod Show is one of the largest held in the Shepparton area. In conjunction with the Hot Rod Show we also have Music, Display, Demonstration and entertainment for the whole family.
On the conclusion of the Hot Rod Show you are then welcome to attend our Rock & Roll Dance held at the Sir Ian McLennan Center (Mooroopna Football Ground) Mooroopna. These dances hosts leading Rock & Roll band so not only do we have the Hot Rod enthusiast attend but also a variety of Rock & Roll clubs.
The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation Shepparton Brach Rock & Rod Show is an event to not only raise funds for local Hospitals but to also make the communities more aware of the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation and its causes.
All proceeds generated by the event go to local Hospitals which in turn help the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation perpetuate the memory of members of Victoria Police killed in the line of duty through the support of worthwhile projects within Victoria Hospitals.
